Taken from my first post:

Just thought I would start my introducing myself. There are so many roles by which we all move about out days – these are a few of mine. Each one will likely be the subject of much blogo-thrashing as this journey evolves. So what do the letters stand for?

M = Mom. I am the mother of millennial, an eleven year old girl with whom I share another blog. I think she’s brilliant but of course I’m partial. I do believe she has an older soul than I and so I have a lot to learn by being fully present to her. Guess what though? I’m a mom in the 21st century and struggle every day to be fully present. I am also blessed to be step-mom to a feisty 7 year old.

S = Southerner. I was born in Atlanta, like my mother before me and my daughter after me. We are about as native to Atlanta as one can be. But I am a different breed of southern than my mother and my daughter most def is a different breed than I.

C = Christian. You’re surprised I know, being a southerner and all. But, if you keep reading you may be plenty surprised. I have had a long and winding faith journey that includes (in order but without dates or longevity notation): Baptist, Agnostic, Taoist, Episcopalian, Methodist, UCC(er?) and now happily post-denominational progressive Christian with a fondness for Emergent manifestations of church. I attend a small UCC church in Atlanta that meets in a store-front in a funky little in-town ‘hood (my hood). I received an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology and am the pastor of a church that meets solely online in Second Life. I work for a non-profit, progressive Christian organization as an online organizer.

L = Lesbian. I told you might be surprised if you would just keep reading. It took me nearly 35 year to come to terms with who I am but here I am. Partnered to a cop. Did I mention yet I have a huge problem with authority? This is one reason I am post-denominational (more on that later I promise).

G = Geek. I us a Mac, I love my iPhone more than I should love a thing, I get paid to update my status in Facebook and I am the pastor of a church that meets in Second Life. Could I be any more of a geek?

All in all I figure God has a pretty wacky sense of humor…

So, that is me – for now. I hope you will drop by once in a while
